Chippy is our mascot here at the garden center. He makes sure that all seeds that fall to the ground from our bird feeders are cleaned up. He is the bravest of our 5-6 chipmunks on the field and will visit us inside our buildings. We have named two others on the field since they are around all the time. Monique and Thelonious have joined the crowd.

GARDENING IN WINTER
Time to think about early gardening tasks!
1. Start to turn over any new beds that have leaves or compost that needs to be mixed into your soil. Break up big clumps with a hoe.
2. Pull leaves and branches off established beds before your early spring flowers begin to sprout ( for example: crocuses or daffodils)
3. Start planning your vegetable and flower beds. (We will have seeds and bulbs for you to plant in your garden in March.)
4. Make sure that any new plants have not heaved from the frost. Protect them with mulch and leaves or add soil and press them back down into the ground.
